DISCOVER DISGUSTING DISCOVERY

I am on Discovery Classic Saver for R4534.00 a month.

I went to my GP thinking I had Kidney Stones as the pain was similar to stones ive had before. My GP wasn't sure it was and gave me anti-inflammtories and pain meds. In the next few days the pain had risen to an intolerable level. White flashes and knees buckling beneath me. Its the worst pain ive ever been in. The next day it was the same and I was rushed to Hillcrest Busamed Hospital under the direction of my GP to see a urologist in Casualty. The urologist took urine and bloods, sent me for a CT scan and Ultrasound.

He said all was normal. I was admitted to hospital and preauthorisation was approved by Discovery.

I then got examined by an Orthopedic for possible skeletal diagnosis. They sent me for an MRI for possible slipped disks and nerve pinch. That however came back clean so still no diagnosis.

I then saw a Neurological guy who also concluded for himself that it wasn't nerve related. He put me back in the Ortho hands.

While this team of doctors were trying to find out what was wrong they all agreed that it was a conundrum which couldn't be pinpointed but now seemed muscular and nerve.

I started physiotherapy in the hospital. By now I had been admitted on the 24th Dec and it was 6 days later 30th Dec.

The still did not have a conclusive diagnosis of the pain.

Discovery then said that they have a 6 day back injury policy and they will not pay for anything further, if I stay in hospital I must pay everything going forward even though nothing was diagnosed to back.

They wanted me out of the hospital when I could hardly stand and certainly could not walk 1 meter.

Another Neuro then examined me and stated that I could not leave the hospital and that Discovery was incorrect to try and withhold their contractual duties.

He then motivated on a new thought for the pain being Nerve Neuropathy particularly from the T10 vertebrae and illionguinal nerve.

The procedure was to be a Spimal Nerve Block.

Discovery declined to approve the motivation to stay in hospital even after motivation was given that it was not back injury or even diagnosed as yet.

I am in incredible pain constantly and can not walk yet they want me out of the hospital immediately.

This is utterly disgusting that they just pull the plug using an incorrect route to JUST NOT PAY.

Discovery you are not what you promise you are.

PEOPLE. THERE ARE MEDICAL AIDS OUT THERE THAT ACTUALLY DO WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

DISCOVERY ISNT ONE OF THEM.
