DISCOVER DISAPPOINTMENTS

My mother was diagnosed a year ago with motor neuron disease. At her current state she is unable to consume any food orally. She receives a protein shake through a tube connected to her stomach. SHE CANNOT SWALLOW ANYTHING AT ALL. REMEDI MEDICAL AID DECLINED OUR REQUESTS TO PUT THE PROTEIN SHAKE WHICH IS CURRENTLY COSTING ME R300 EVERY 3 DAYS ONTO HER CHRONIC MEDICATION BENEFITS. COUNTLESS EFFORTS FROM HER DRS NEUROLOGISTS SURGEON DIETICIAN ETC HAS BEEN DECLINED. I ASK YOU DISCOVER PLEASE EXPLAIN YOUR REASONS FOR NOT SUPPLYING THE ONLY LIFE LINE FOR A PATIENT WHO IS IN DESPERATE NEED OF THAT. YES MY MOTHER WILL DIE ONE DAY AND YOUR MULTI BILLION RAND COMPANY WILL KEEP ON KEEPING ON. I WOULD HANG MY HEAD IN SHAME IF I WAS YOU.

Once again more than a month later we are still struggling with Remedi Medical aid to Grant our requests to put my mothers only means of nutrition onto her chronic benefits. If a patient has got a PEGG inserted it means she cannot take any food in orally. Am i correct. If the report from the Barium swallow shows that she has acute difficulty in swallowing. If she cannot even brush her teeth cause she's afraid she might swollow the toothpaste and start choking. All the motivations from drs, dietitians x ray results etc is in your hands Remedi Medical aid. Why are you not approving our requests. We are paying R300 every 3 days for her nutrition OUT OF OUR OWN POCKETS. YES Remedi you do have a guote for the costing of the nutrition....WHY ARE WE NOT GETTING RESULTS. A lady from discovery phoned a day after I posted my last complaint. NOTHING CAME FROM THAT CONVERSATION....
I NEED ANSWERS.. YOU HAVE MY CONTACT DETAILS.

Discovery health medical aid. Tonight I have one question for you and you really don't have to reply. My mom passed away 14 November 2025. She had motor neuron disease. She had a peg inserted into her stomach for feedings purpose. That procedure was done early August. So for nearly 4 months you declined the numerous times we app**** with drs dietitian xray etc motivation letters for you to pay a portion of the R300 we had to pay every 3 days. YOU KEPT ON DECLINING IT UNTIL THE DAY SHE PAST AWAY.
Last week I recieved a letter in the post stating we owe some pathologists R288 which her day to day didn't cover.....to my absolute amazement I learned that you did settle that amount out of a special benefit. Soooo why couldn't you cover the cost of her feeding caswell. She was a member for many years and she was admitted only once...TOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES ONCE AGAIN...I CANNOT AND WILL NOT RECOMEND YOUR MEDICAL AID SCHEME EVER TO ANYONE.
