Disappointing Service and Lack of Support for New Members
I am currently listed as a dependant on my parents’ medical aid, but I am now looking to transition to my own plan. Unfortunately, my experience with Discovery Health so far has been quite frustrating.
When I attempted to get a quote online, I was repeatedly told that a consultant would call me back, which never happened. I then took the initiative to call in myself and spoke to a consultant named Tumelo. Regrettably, the interaction was very disappointing. The tone of the conversation felt cold and unwelcoming, and I was not given the opportunity to ask questions or properly understand my options.
I was simply asked which plan I wanted and told that a form would be emailed to me to complete — which I never received. As a prospective client trying to make an informed decision, I found this lack of engagement and follow-through quite concerning.
Additionally, the website experience is not user-friendly, and the range of products feels overwhelming and difficult to navigate without guidance. This makes it even more important for consultants to be approachable, informative, and willing to assist — which was unfortunately not my experience.
I would appreciate improved customer service, clearer communication, and better support for individuals trying to join your medical aid independently.
