Disappointing bill
Truly disappointed in a medical scheme I am forced to make use of due to my employer.
In 2018 I had a obstetrics bill of R13517.50 for C-section of my baby boy, of which DH paid R6153.50, since my gynae was not on their network provider list.
2020 I gave birth to my little girl, also via C-section. My girl decided to arrive a day before the booked delivery date, birth often tends not to follow routine or schedule. First claim by DH was rejected since due date of baby did not match pre-authorisation date. It required 3 phone calls on my behalf to sort out so that my gynae could be paid. Bill understandably increased to R18480 of which I was just telephonically informed DH will only pay just over R4000.
How can this be taking in mind inflation etc. when comparing to 2018 bill? Secondly, how does DH propose a baby be safely delivered in a private hospital for just over R4000? For me, the numbers don't add up and I would like a proper investigation / explanation.
