Disappointed in Authorisation Procedure
I am very disappointed with how discovery is handling my authorisation procedure. Went to the doctor today for an IUD insertion. Started bleeding uncontrollably he had to stop. He then booked me for a D&C procedure as well as the insertion. I have been passing clots since then. He gave me two codes, which I gave to the lady at the call centre. I do not understand. All she was concentrating on was the insertion, did she not see that one of my codes said I have abnormal bleeding (tmi..sorry). I guess I have to bleed and die first before I get authorisation and do not understand why I need motivation first. My doctor has agreed to write the letter however. I will be forwarding my complaint to my employer as well as the company is getting agitated with this medical aid and is considering moving. I now understand why. Please listen to my recording, maybe I missed something. I am not a doctor (maybe I didn't explain myself correctly) but I can tell you now that this is the last thing I need from the supposed 'best' medical aid. After this experience, I regret moving my family to this medical aid
