DISAPPOINTED BY DISCOVERY

Just a simple request to have a treating provider receive admission authorisation notification was denied.

I spoke to Roseanne Taylor Client relations clinical department at Discovery on 13/06/2016 , and when I requested that notification be sent to the Treating Provider (the Dr) who admits the patient, I was told (in a rather snotty manner) that " We are not going to change our system for one Dr, we are offering a service to the member"

But it makes no sense that the Treating Dr does not get a notification via email for admitting his own patient. All other medical aids offer this to us, without request, they send a copy of authorisation. Why does Discovery not do this??

What about the services that this treating provider is offering to the huge number of Discovery members?

Surely a simple email notification to the Treating Provider is not such a huge request!!

VERY DISAPPOINTED
