Dicsovery Health - No Care for Parents!!

I feel completely defeated when it comes to Discovery.

I have had a membership off & on since 2000 and I support my Mum, who is a widow, and has a basic job, with a basic salary, which is only enough for her personal monthly items. She is financially dependant on me.

Over the years, I have given up with begging Discovery to allow me to add her as a dependant. Even with the meagre salary, Discovery assumes that this is enough for her to be self sufficient.

As of 2018, now that my Mum is so much older, I have appealed, unsuccessfully of course, to get her added on my Plan. Time & time again, I receive the same rehe****d verbiage saying that she doesn't qualify.

If I could, I would give up my own Medical and have her on it totally, but now, I am faced with more issues like a Late Joiner Fee, and that I need to get her her own plan, which is totally impossible for me to afford.

I have already lost members of my family who couldn't get sufficient health care in this country and I feel that this should never be the case for ANYONE.

Why is it so easy to add a SPOUSE who earns very well, but one cannot add a PARENT who deserves to be looked after my their children?

This is totally unfair. Discovery just doesn't seem to care!
