Dental trauma benefit t's and c's

Just to share my journey with Discovery and their excuses. After a violent incident which required major dental work, I was somewhat comforted hearing about the Discovery Dental Trauma Benefit and that it would be one less thing to stress about. After weeks of operations and recuperation I submit my claims to Discovery. Getting it back I see they only covered the absolute minimum, nowhere near the promised benefit amount. Contacting customer support they say - no, small print says the procedures have to happen within 30 days of the initial trauma. Which goes directly against the dentist's recommended recovery time of 6 weeks before operating. After having to have the dentist directly contact them they back down and say they meant the initial procedure had to be within 30 days, which it always was, in any case, attempt number 2: Discovery refuses the claim because the codes are not the correct trauma codes, because the codes have changed. After another back and forth between them and the dentist, resubmit with the new codes. Nothing paid again. The latest excuse is they did pay out under the trauma benefit (how they did that with the wrong codes I don't know), but that the benefit only covers one single procedure per year, and they only pay the first one, which also happened to be the smallest one. At this point I've given up, they will always win, even when you think you are safe. - giving 2 stars because at least they paid a token amount
