Declines Even Nappi Code Medication
I recently purchased medication with Nappi Codes. Discovery Health used to refund us when purchasing medication. However, this has now suddenly changed. A new term and condition was introduced by Discovery that fell out of the blue. This was not applicable in the past, nor is it in our copy of the agreement with Discovery.

I have to get a doctor's prescription in order to get Vitamin Pills. Yes, after paying almost R7000 per month for medical aid, Discovery declines my claim for Vitamins for R200 except if I pay another R500 to go to the doctor. This is just a way to ensure that our savings plan becomes depleted sooner.

On top of this, I had to call Discovery to find out what is going on. No one even bothered to inform me that my claim was rejected.

Therefore, be very careful with Discovery as they change their terms and conditions of your cover levels without you even knowing about it (that is up to when you need it)! I am leaving Discovery as it is to risky to apparently be \covered"by them.

The only place Discovery will help you if you fall ill is right into your grave"
Thank you for your comment.
I have investigated your query and confirmed that the Scheme will pay for this product as long as you use a provider who is appropriately registered with the Board of Healthcare Funders (BHF) and has a valid practice number. I confirmed this store is not registered with the BHF and therefore we are unable to fund the claim in question.
The Scheme does fund over the counter (OTC) medication from your available Medical Savings Account (MSA) provided they are obtained from a BHF registered provider. OTC's do not need to be prescribed by a doctor.
When we processed the claim we notified the principal member via a daily claims notification. I have sent an email to you as well with feedback on your query.
I do understand that you may not be satisfied with the outcome to your query however it is in line with the Scheme rules.
Kind regards
Jashvir
