DECLINED EMERGENCY ADMISSION
On the 1st March 2016 I had to urgently apply for re-membership with discovery health. I was with them for 5 years previously until I found out my husband cut off my medical aid. So my membership was cancelled. I've since rejoined as at the 1 March 2016. Unbeknown to me after feeling very unwell for 2 weeks, an ultra sound scan was conducted due to severe abdominal lower pain nauseous and vomiting that I have in fact a 8cm ovarian cyst. After the scan and being with my GP for the second time vista, of urine tests, I was told to see the gynae whom conducted surgery on my ovaries in 2013 that were 10cm in diameter. He announced he was fearful of the cyst twisting, which is why I am in excruciating pain. I've spoken to the Surgeon and asked for a motivation letter due to the urgency which I've sent reams of paper work to new member department to get an emergency admission for me. I've contacted discovery myself personally and spoken and asked for an emergency authorisation number to let surgeon do a laproscopic cyst cysectomy URGENTLY. Discovery on the ph have no compasion when dealing with a consultant...they tell me the same thing I been told wait 12 months plus 3 months. I can't
