Good Morning Discovery Health Team

Please see all of the information attached regarding the maxillo-facial surgery required. I have attached the CT scans as well as the x-ray taken by Dr A Botha on 31/08/2017.

I have been in constant pain for more than 48 months. I have had an encephalitis scare due to this pain where I had to be hospitalised. I go to bed each evening with a warm water bottle on my face in a dismal attempt to sleep due to the intense pain in my face.

I have been saving for three months to be able to afford a consultation with a Maxillo-Facial-Oral Surgeon on YOUR list of covered specialists. I had to cough up R750-00 for a consultation and a further R750-00 for an additional x-ray which I will obviously not be able to claim back from my "medical aid".

This is not a cosmetic surgery, it is a life altering growth inside of my body due to infection after a badly executed surgery in 2008 by Dr Conrad Masuriek at Little Company of Mary. It is currently affecting my quality of life due to chronic pain. I have constant nose bleeds. And my sight in my right eye is drastically affected due to the pressure from the inflammation and pain in my sinus.

So on that note, I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for sucking me dry financially every month by making me pay for a medical aid which clearly has no intention of assisting me when I have a true crisis. As you have so graciously decided to decline my surgery authorisation - I will not be able to afford the surgery and will have to continue living in pain. If I had just saved the money I pump into your organization each month to pay off your CEO's and COO's brand spanking new Porsche…I would have been able to afford the surgery I need.

Therefore, as you have no intention of assisting me. I will no longer be requiring your assistance with a "medical aid". And would rather take my business elsewhere.
