DECLARE ME AS A NON SMOKER

I thought it best to put my concern on Hello-Peter and trust that 4th attempt to declare myself (or to have myself declared) as a NON-SMOKER in all areas concerned within my Discovery Portfolio (I bank with Discovery as well as my Short-Term insurance, Life Policies, RA's , Medical Aid, Vitality and Investments) So you can see that I support Discovery quite well.

However - they are NOT prepared to change my status to a NON-SMOKER (For obvious Financial Reasons, I must presume) and must assume that this be so till my Dying Day !!

I was diagnosed with Aspergillosis, a Fungal infection of the lungs on the 04th of January 2022 and was a smoker until that day... I recovered as far as humanly possible for my age and can play golf, walk, exercise and race my car, so a very normal life for a 60 year old.

My 1st attempt to have myself declared a no smoker was officially declined by Discovery and was understood as I submitted this via my Broker Shortly after my release from Hospital and was told to wait a Year and re-apply there-after - An so it was duly done and as per instructions, I re-submitted an application through my broker in mid 2023 (a year after), only to be declined yet again, as Discovery now stated that my lungs were compromised as a result of Smoking and declined my application yet again.

Note: I have a letter from my Pulmonologist (Dr Taban & Dr Maphanga) who can gladly be contacted, where they clearly noted that Smoking had ABSOLUTELY NOT Caused Aspergillosis and any reason for my lungs being minimally compromised is as a result of Aspergillosis and not Smoking

It is now nearly 32 Months that I have not touched a cigarette or any form of Smoling device and want to try again in having my status cleared at Discovery and to be called and defined as a NON-SMOKER
