Deception by Discovery Retail Medical Aid

<p>My wife was in the hospital in Nov2016, she was operated by Dr.R.Maharaj, She claimed R17,611.50 for operation and treatment but Discovery paid me only R.5870.80 because Dr.R.Maharaj charged much more than medical aid rates.</p> <p>Whatever I received from Discovery (R.5870.80), I paid the same full amount to Dr.R.Maharaj. Now if Discovery's account staff made this mistake to pay more than what they supposed to pay to the doctor, then why I became responsible or liable to refund R.200.80 to discovery ???</p> <p>I received a call on 23Jan2017 at 11:40am, from Discovery Debit department, Retail Scheme, person's name was Michael and after long discussion he admitted that it's Discovery's mistake that they supposed to refund different amount and should not ask me to refund R.200.80 back into their account. He also admit that it's not my mistake. </p> <p>He was also threatened me that it will be handed over to attorneys for debt collection. If Discovery will go that route, I will definitely have an attoney to sort it out.</p>
