Debit order date amendment nightmare

I take care of my pensioner parents and I am responsible for the medical aid for my mother. On 26-Jan-2017 I phoned Discovery to make an amendment to the Debit Order date. It was agreed upon that the date will be the 10th of each month, but that the deduction for Feb-2017 will be on the 1st (the original) date and the 10th. Thereafter from March it will be one deduction on the 10th of each month.

On the 27th I phoned Discovery again to cancel this: paying twice in Feb was a bit extreme "punishment" just for a Debit Order (DO) date change. I spoke to Sekgololo who confirmed that the DO date has been changed back to the 1st and that the change for the 10th has been cancelled.

A day or so after my conversation with Sekgololo I phoned again (spoken to Devon - ref: ********** 113) who also assured me that the date for the DO has been reverted and that the DO date for the 10th has been cancelled.

Also after this conversation I phoned again just to confirm (I did not take down the lady's details or ref. numbers). Again, it was confirmed that the DO date is the 1st and that the DO date for the 10th has been cancelled.

The DO for the 1st of Feb-2017 went off as usual. Come the 10th, another premium was deducted, after confirming with three different consultants that it will not happen. I was in pickle... with no money left for emercencies/food/etc. for my pensioner parents.

I went to my bank and reversed the DO for the 10th.

After that I had two further conversations with Discovery consultants:

1] Yolanda (ref: ********** 845)

This lady also confirmed that the DO date was reverted back to the 1st and was not supposed to have been deducted on the 10th. Again assurances were given that all has been sorted out for March the 1st.

Come 01-Mar-2017, no DO was deducted. I then spoke to

2] Lee (ref: ********** 320) after receiving an email on 5-Mar-2017 from Discovery that my Mom's medical aid has been suspended. I have sent two emails to Discovery enquiring why the DO for the 01-Mar did not go off, but to date I received no reply. My Mom even filled in a "Contact Me" form on the Discovery website with the query of why the DO was not deducted on the 01-Mar... also no reply.

Lee also checked the system and confirmed that the DO was supposed to go off on the 1st, but stated that I can do a manual transfer. I told her I would do that on the 11th of March.

I just checked my account now, and what would you know: Discovery has deducted **DOUBLE** premiums for my Mom;s medical aid! Again I am in a situation where I have to wonder what next for my parents.

**DOUBLE** premium deduction... Why Discovery... why? After having spoken to **FIVE** different consultants. After hearing the empty apologies and promises. Why...? Why put my pensioner parents at risk by crippling me financially? After I told Lee that I will be transferring the money on the 11th, you still went and deducted ** DOUBLE** premiums? Who has given you the authority to raid my bank account and put my parents at risk??? I was never informed of this by Lee...

I am so tired. So dissapointed. All the airtime my Mom spent to try and solve this. All the promises. All the apologies. All the bank charges. All the frustrations. To think it is Discovery's 25th birthday today.

From an email I received:

===

Friday, March 10, marks Discovery’s 25-year anniversary. As our clients, you are at the heart of our business and we’d like to thank you for your support. We would also like to thank our staff, so as a gesture of thanks, we have given them the day off to celebrate with their families and reflect on the contribution they have made to building Discovery and helping our clients.

===

I read and re-read the above... and I have no words to futher describe my feelings regarding the ordeal me and my parents have been put through...

Is there anyone other than front-line staff who can assist...

I see another double premium has been deducted from my bank account... I did not authorise /agree to this. When I spoke to Shaun I was promised that their system would only deduct the normal premium.
