I would like to enquire about the following account :########

It is to my understanding that under the maternity benefits, the member has up to 12 blood tests and up to 8 consultations during pregnancy.

No where was it stated that the 12 blood tests and 8 consultations would be subjected to co-payments. Yet each time we submit claims or go for blood tests , you guys never cover the full amount. If it was stated from the beginning when we took up the medical aid then I would be very understanding.

Since lve been with discovery I’ve paid R6 425 in monthly premiums and an additional R3100 for consultations with the Gynecologist and as well as R1 333,50

That’s a total of R10 858,50

And discovery as only managed to pay out only R890,5 in blood tests and R1 393,6 in consultations which is a total of R2284,10

If I didn’t take up medical aid and decided to pay cash from my own pocket I would have spend a total of R5 034,1 which would have covered for all blood tests and consultations to date !!!

So why am I paying for medical aid ? You sold me dream that will never be achieved...

1. You guys claimed that I can go to any Dr under my network of Doctors, guess what under the network of Doctors , there are Zero Doctors irrespective of location.

2. On the Discovery website, the summary you emailed me upon signing up with you guys as well as any of your broachers it doesn’t state that the will be any co-payments under any of the Maternity Benefits .

Why am I paying for medical aid if it’s cheaper and easier for me to pay everything out of my own pocket ?
