Continued bad service, laughable excuses and placing clients in bad debts scenarios.

Follow on to previous post where little changed in getting payment for blood tests and received the following yesterday Ampath Account *** pending handover. Kindly settle R1462.40 within the next 7 days or contact us to discuss on ***. Banking details: Drs Du Buisson, Kramer, Swart, Bouwer, Inc. StandardBank Centurion 012645 *** Thank you. Since. previous posting here I received a call the following day from Discovery Customer services to resolve problem. A lengthy discussion and promise to send me details of problem, findings and resolution ensued. Needless to say no report or resolution was recieved or payment. On Monday recieved call from pathology company re:none. payment and I immediately contacted Discovery and was given multiple reasons for none payment including tests requested by Dr not required. Dr not on approved Drs list, pathologists should have only. tested according to Discoveries list etc, etc.( previous discussions required that Dr had to submit new Chronic application which meant a new appointment with Dr and associated costs which I did. I also had to go to Dischem and get the Dr's script and send this through to the chronic department which was done)I requested to speak to a manager and received call late yesterday and not early morning as promised. Once again reasons for none payment were tests were done in probationary period, chronic submission was only given in February etc etc. this after I was told up front chronic would be covered as per previous 20 year plus membership with Discovery and probationary period did not effect chronic conflditons and medication. This was the reason I stayed with Discovery instead of changing to Momentum at half the price. Despite me telling them every time we spoke to listen to voice recording of call with them this has not been done. They were supposed to get back to me this morning with feedback, nothing received. Now I face being handed over for a bad debt and they carry on doing nothing but providing senseless excuses. eg. My one chronic medication can cause liver damage but they said a liver test was not required. The sooner discovery start focusing on the health of their customers versus what they can make as much money from them as possible the better. To conclude should I have switched to Another provider which with high insight would have been the better option as the difference In monthly fees would have covered these pathology costs and would have been far cheaper.

Well yes Discovery did contact me and read off a summary of the initial sales call(overview of sales call and their version) It was mentioned that yes chronic medication would be covered during the 3 month probationary period, however the blood tests and pathology costs were excluded and the consultant stated that Discovery would not pay for these. My argument is that you cannot get chronic medication without the tests as no Dr would recommend a chronic medication if you had symptoms that would be affected by it. If Discovery were and did allow the medication to be provided without the supporting pathology tests then this would be *******. You cannot get chronic medication without blood tests so where is the logic. I asked. for a recording of sales call and was informed I needed to complete a request document and submit to Discovery which would take up to 5 working days. This was apparently sent during call and. despite confirming email address has not been recieved. Once again I am in danger of being blacklisted for bad debts with pathologists due to he above. To conclude: when you require chronic medication you have to have bloods taken every 6 months(discovery requirement ). No Blood tests no medication. Having done as required why are payments to pathologist for bloods catagorically exuded.? Also note in previous calls other reasons for none payment were provided.
