Contact centre individuals lying to customer
I went for a procedure about a month ago. I called Discovery for my pre-authorisation. I gave all the codes provided by the doctor for the procedure. I was told no pre-authorisation was needed. I was put through to the normal health query department who took the codes again and advised me that my co-payment was R2,750. Nothing else was mentioned. The reference number for the call is ***.

Upon my follow appointment I was told by the doctor discovery is refusing to pay approximately R3,000 due to them not recognising the code. I phoned Discovery again, told them how they could refuse payment since this was not communicated. Reference number for this call was ***. The consultant agreed that this is not correct and he would contact the doctor to resolve the matter.

I was provided with feedback from this consultant saying the matter was resolved and payment would take place. Reference for this call is ***.

Today I got a notification from the doctor saying the amount is still in arrears. I honestly give up on this matter since I believed what I was told by the consultant who obviously provided false information.
