Complete ******* - Medical Aid **** - No value for money

For a total yearly contributions of R43 920, I maybe only get cover of about R15000 a year, including my MSA.

Each year they increase the prices, and lower the benefits. This year, instead of us having X amount of Free GP consultations after our MSA is depleted, we now have to first pay to see a nurse and be referred by the nurse to a GP.

It is now better for me to rather put the contributions I spend on Discovery, into an interest bearing account, and to pay for my fees myself. Im not a very sickly person, but when I need cover, Discovery cannot provide.

Maternity benefits merely state "You are covered for 12 blood tests" then limit the blood tests covered to ones mostly not remotely related to the actual maternity journey. Such as the 1st trimester downs test, which is recommend by all Gynecologists is not covered.

And lets not get started on system issues that cause benefits to disappear or not be available. This has been the biggest pain to deal with over the past month and being chased after by doctors who should have been paid, but were not because Discovery runs their backend system using sticks and toilet paper.

I do not recommend this medical aid, they are probably the biggest legitimized **** running. Get cheap hospital cover rather and put your money away for in case of emergencies.
