Compassion was at the forefront

My journey in the service industry began in 2011 at Discovery Health in Coega (Port Elizabeth). From that moment, I became a staunch advocate for the exceptional service delivered by their call center consultants. With a deep understanding of the legislative intricacies of the POPI Act and the Medical Schemes Act, I reached out to the Discovery Health call center in February this year. This was after my best friend and her family had faced numerous challenges in getting the help they desperately needed. We had just received the heart-wrenching news that her cancer had returned, more aggressively this time. Emotions were running high, and we needed urgent assistance. Amidst this turmoil, one consultant stood out with her extraordinary service—Anelisa Pamba. What a gem! She went above and beyond, calling multiple times to provide interim updates and sometimes just to check on my friend and her family. Despite not working in the ‘Health Professionals’ space, Anelisa took the initiative to contact the oncologist and radiologist involved in the case. She continued to check in, ensuring everything was progressing smoothly. Sadly, my friend passed away last week, but Anelisa Pamba will forever hold a special place in my heart. Her dedication and compassion made a world of difference, and she may never fully realize the profound impact she had on us.
