Classic smart plan Discovery ripoff

Discovery Health is putrid. My partner recently left work to start his own business venture which required him to cancel his medical scheme he joined whilst being employed with his previous company. Once his scheme was cancelled by his work, discovery contacted him and advised him to join the classic smart plan. This then required him to pay +-R2000 as a clawback eventhough he was not completely leaving the discovery medical aid. At the time he was also and is still paying a ton of payments for medical procedures (due to a lower lumbar injury) not covered by his plan. Fast forward to today (one month into him being on the classic smart plan) he experienced a tight chest and shortness of breath. I quickly checked the approved hospitals in the area and took him to the nearest one (which was 25mins away). Upon arriving at the hospital I was told that his medical scheme does not cover emergency cases (which was not communicated to him via the consultant who helped get him on this plan and surely was not stipulated in the booklet emailed to him). The hospital proceeded to help him because it was a dire case. Once he was discharged we went to the nearest pharmacy (clicks) where he was once again told his medication was not covered (once again, not the agreement). I am seriously disappointed in discovery and will advise everyone to use anyone but them. They suck their clients dry, but refuse to take care of them. In addition the consultants give misleading information in order to get anyone to sign up, but leave them in the dark when they need it most. I spent most of today trying to find out whether or not he can go to hospital again if (God forbid) his chest closes up again and needless to say the consultant was less than helpful. I will start seeking a new plan because this ridiculous.
