Classic comprehensive not so classic nor comprehensive!

<p>Shocked, on further investigation, to ascertain that Discovery's permissble / allowed rate for a caesarean is a menial R3, 257.10, this against an industry recommended rate of approximately R16, 000; classic comprehensive, as is well publicised and highligthed, offers a whole 200% of this, essentially, 20% cover for industry related cost.</p> <p> </p> <p>To add insult, Discovery maintains that their allowbale rate is reasonable and that I have been overcharegd despite me providing the industry recommended tariffs in offical format and, despite requesting on two separate occassions for a list of gynaes that will perform a caesarean for the allowabe R3, 257.10 to validate said rate, this has not been forthcoming.</p> <p> </p> <p>I can only then conclude that Discovery's rate is not market related (nor reasonable) and also explains their obsession in highlighting percentages, noting I battled to get them to confirm a Rand figure which now makes a whole lot of sense.</p> <p> </p> <p>Note, if I were on a watered down plan or policy I would understand but, if you are on a premium plan at a premium cost, one expects a little better.</p> <p> </p> <p>Michael.</p>
