Claims.... What a disappointment...

Its extremely disappointing to experience frustration beyond belief when it comes to a very simple claim with Discovery Health.

To all those out there that are thinking about traveling overseas with your new baby beware! Discovery Health will make your life very difficult if you do your child's vaccinations outside of South Africa and the receipts you receive are not in English.

We traveled to France and had our sons 14 week vaccination done while visiting family. Received the receipt in french because their national language is french. (they barely spoke english) When i submitted the claim the claim department wanted all the standard proof of travel info and then they requested the ridiculous.... They want a diagnosis and receipts in English. How do you get a diagnosis for a vaccination? He wasn't sick he just had he vaccination done outside of SA. Vaccinations are standard practice. The receipt is in french and shows the listed items and the total amount. How do you get an English receipt when the people dont speak English?

Even after submitting all info your claims department went silent. I complained then had to provide the exact same info and again they went quiet. I call and ask what is happening then i can see the exact same questions come through even after i explain what its for again but clearly the claim process is flawed.

I dont care about your travel benefit and what i can or cannot do. This a normal claim to me as we have done for the previous claims for vaccinations. Take it off the savings.... just process the damn claim please. I have read that you processed other claims like this in other languages for people.

What the hell do i pay you for? Medical aid service or for paid frustration?
