Claim rejection
On the 28th May my wife was rushed to Muelmed hospital in the early hours of the morning. She had a severe migraine attack and when they checked her BP it's was at 170 but later went up to 190. The Dr on call immediately arranged for her to be admitted in High care unit due to the high blood pressure. He told us that it was the BP causing her headaches and they needed to stabilize her to avoid risk such as stroke.
My wife stayed at high care from Thursday until sunday. She was then discharged on monday afternoon after seeing the Dr.

Today i receive a call from Discovery health about rejecting the claim for my wife's admission to hospital. Apparently the policy from Discovery state that for headaches patients should only be admitted for 1 day if it's more, the member will be liable for payment of the extra days. I'm not a Dr by profession so i can not decide how many days my sick wife should stay in hospital.
I pay medical aid premiums of R5420 every month and its not fair to be treated this way.
