Claim got approved upon admission then rejected 2 days after operation.

I am extremely disappointed in the service I am receiving from Discovery at the moment. Pay so much money but no value, absolutely zilch!!

I admitted myself at Constatiaberg hospital on the 15th Jan 2018 after my GP diagnosed me with pilonidal abcess. Upon admission I received an email from Discovery saying that the procedure had been approved. I had the operation done later that day based on the approval I received and was discharged the following day.

A few days later I get a letter from the anesthesiologist saying that the medical aid rejected the claim!

Why on earth wasn't this claim then rejected in the first place?!!

I received a huge bill from the hospital and doctors that I need to pay. Discovery covered absolutely nothing! Not even my overnight stay at the hospital!

I cannot pay for the procedure as it was given the green light when authorization was initially done.

I spoke to both Discovery and the hospital and they are both refusing to take responsibility for this.

I will not be paying for anything! Discovery needs to bring their part! I feel like my premium every month is going to absolute waste!!
