Chronic medication declined

Discovery is an absolute disgrace as they don't care about your health at all. They only care about their pockets!! My parents have been with Discovery for 20 years and have always paid their premiums on time! But now when they need Discovery they are just left for dead!! My father was using chronic Waffrin until he was advised by his physician that he should stop using the Waffrin as it had various bad side affects on him. This was confirmed after my father had to undergo an operation whereby he had to be weaned off before they could continue with the procedure. After the procedure he was informed that he should rather start using Pradaxa as this will not have the same type of negative affects on him. We were informed that in order for Discovery to add the Pradaxa to the chronic medication list my parents had to obtain a motivation from the Doctor in this regard. Needless to say the motivation was obtained whereby Discovery just blatantly refused to add the Pradaxa to the Chronic list but instead instructed my father to again continue using Waffrin even after being advised by the physician not to use this anymore. Their explanation to my father was that he does not qualify for the Pradaxa as his current plan does not cater for this!! So my question is, "What does the type of plan you are on, have anything to do with what type of Chronic medicine you are allowed to use?" Why is he being discriminated against just because he cant afford a higher plan? Is it because he is white or is it because he does not fall in the "executive" bracket!? Discovery refuses to pay for the more expensive Pradaxa where a person only has to go for one blood test every 6 months to one year, whereby instead they are willing to pay for the cheaper Waffrin which has a lot of bad side affects on my father and he also has to go for blood tests every month!! The physician had subsequently submitted 2 motivations in this regards but it was still declined by Discovery!!
