CHRONIC MED DECLINE - WHAT A DISSIPOINTMENT

I have been on discovery for years and never had a problem up until today. Yes, you have 26 listed depression categories that they will consider to approve chronic medication for that type of illness. And yet they tell you “your plan” is what stopping you from getting that medicine on chronic. So according to my opinion they are discriminating cause if you have the Executive plan you will be well looked after and get all the benefits nessacery but if you are on a lower plan they will have to think twice before they will even look at your chronic depression medicine. Yes, the plan was structured like that I understand. You see it work like this. I was told it was my plan I get that. BUT what they don’t consider average people like myself only earns the amount that can afford a certain plan on the medical aid. So I need to go on a higher plan to get that medicine on chronic. But do they think average people can afford a premium on +/- R8000 maybe more. No they don’t!!! My husband have a really bad depression illness and they can’t help me even after the Dr. have motivate it – they still don’t give a flying squad!!!As long as they can get your monthly fee they don’t care about the rest. Where do you as average person get an addition of R2000 amount to pay his chronic medicine on top of the amount you pay your medical aid? That is a day light *******!!! Average people live day by day if they are lucky to do so and don’t have a magic wand that can be used to magical get that amount every month. But for the more privilege people Discovery will go out there way to accommodate. My question is as follow how can a medical aid decide what is chronic and what’s not? Do they have qualified doctors on the panel? If they do surly that Dr needs to know how severe a high level of depression is or any other illness that need chronic attention. Even when that Dr motivate the situation!!! Not blindly decline the request. And they will be the 1st to throw their hands in die air if something should happen to one of their members – it’s not our responsibility…how continently I would say!!! HOW MANY PEOPLE OUT THERE HAVE THE SAME SITUATION THAT I HAVE??? DO YOU MEDICAL AID REALLY LOOKS AFTER US??
