CANCER TREATMENT

I was diagnosed with pancriatic cancer and underwent a whipple procedure in May. A whipple is a very invasive and hectic procedure. The recovery is traumatic. I am now in need of chemo and radiation. My onchologist sent all the required information to Discovery for authorisation three weeks ago. When after the first week we had nothing back from Discovery we contacted them and were referred to a case manager. Since that contact the "Board" from Discov ery have asked the onchologist for further information on several occasions. The onchologist has sent the "Board" huge medical documents and explanations of treatment plan and still they are wanting more information. How difficult can this be for the so called "Board" to understand. I have been through a tough time but it appears there is absolutely no urgency for the chemo treatment from Discovery. I am disgusted at the total lack of urgency, disreagrd that cancer spreads and that time is not on my side. Discovery clearly have no compassion or empathy for their clients that pay their medical aid promptly and loyally every month. All about the money it would seem!!!!!!
