BLACK LISTED WITHOUT CONTACTING ME

I was on the discovery medical aid which my previous company was paying for, after I resigned like 5 months back, the medical aid was cancelled, so a month back I tried to take a contract and it was declined because I was black listed by Discovery, I think it must have been the Savings that I used, but the point is that, Not one person from discovery called me up and made arrangements to pay the account, and they just black listed me, this has just messed up my credit, Please someone resolve it

Hello Avikash,

Thank you for your comment.

The Medical Savings Account (MSA) is a fixed amount that Discovery Health gives you at the beginning of the year for day-to-day medical expenses. You pay this amount back to us in 12 equal monthly instalments. If you leave Discovery Health Medical Scheme part-way through the year, we calculate how much of the MSA you have used and how much you have contributed to it. If you have used more from the account than what you have paid into the account, then you will need to pay the difference to us.

When there is an amount outstanding to the Scheme, numerous attempts are made to advise the member of this before the account is handed over. We try to reach members following the letters that are posted. It is your responsibility as the member to ensure that your details are always up to date to ensure that you receive important communication through the various channels we offer.

We've confirmed that you have been contacted and your concerns addressed. Please contact the third party directly in order to arrange payment of the outstanding amount.

Regards
Annelize
