Billing me for things I never authorized
I asked an optometrist for a quote on glasses, so I could decide if I wanted them or not (I knew I was in my self-payment gap), and I did not want to spend too much towards this - I am on one of the expensive comprehensive plans, so I was actually hoping optometry would be covered... it isn't. The optometrist went ahead and submitted the claim without approval from me (which I explicitly asked for). They have subsequently done a reversal, but now through some amazing Discovery logic, I owe discovery a (not trivial) amount of money that was apparently used to close my self payment gap, as was explained to me by your call centre agent. It was quite something to receive an email stating that I owed money and the bank account details into which I must pay, but no explanation of what I owed money for - I was advised to call in to get "more detail". Your call centre agent insists that there is nothing that can be done about this, and I must just *** en betaal. So between the optometrists basically ********** claim, your negligence, and the fact that I've been paying for everything out of my own pocket due to reaching my self-payment gap ridiculously quickly, what am I actually paying you for every month?
