Benefit issue not Escalated as requested

Annually my mammogram appointments are made in December, due to a number of issues I was unable to go in December but did go on 05 January 2015, which is really only a few days out. I noticed that this benefit reflected as 0-available for 2015 statement and contacted Discovery as I would ideally like to keep this annual appointment in December. Evan called me stating that what I was asking Discovery to do is to contact the Dr and have the dates changed which is ******* - obviously I never requested this and am only asking for my benefit to be approved yearly given that it is merely 5-days out of date and honouring my appointments in December. I am not asking for an additional appointment or anything extra. Had this been in another month of the year it would have posed no problem. Evan was rude and arrogant and when I insisted on this matter being escalated it was NEVER done. Instead the same written response was received from Noxolo Duru and it appears as though we are not allowed to speak to someone more senior who can look at this matter with the understanding it deserves and be reasonable to the request made instead of making assumptions as Evan did. <br>

Hello WATTS,

Thank you for your comment.

As discussed we pay for one mammogram, Pap smear and prostate-specific antigen test each year from the Screening and Preventive Benefit. If this Benefit if not used in that year it does not carry over to the following year. While we do understand your circumstances to be fair to all our members we cannot use the previous year's benefit this year.

Please accept my sincerest apologies for the manner in which your call was handled. It is being addressed internally to ensure this does not happen going forward.

I am truly sorry I could not provide you with a different outcome to your query.

Kind regards
Jashvir
