Been sent to debt collectors but was not aware

Good day<br> I received a call from your Debt collectors advising me I had been handed over for collection.<br> I was greatly surprised by this phone call, firstly because I was not aware I owed you. I have the following questions which i need answered:<br> According to the debt law, you are supposed to communicate with me of any monies being owed to you by means of a letter or phone call of which neither was communicated. before handing me over, I asked the lady who phoned me why I was handed over and she said she did not have information. <br> I still do not know what I owe you because the lady who called Tuesday said she doesn't know the breakdown I must just tell her when she should expect payment. <br> My last question is how do I get to owe you when my premiums were deducted from my salary and once I retrenched everything was cancelled. <br> I am greatly angered by your lack of business ethics, taking legal action in the click of a button against ordinary citizens.<br> I look forward to an urgent response because I am not willing to pay for services rendered which I am not aware of and any legal charges, credit record being damaged by this
