Basic Maternity Blood Test "not covered"

I recently received an invoice from the lab as Discovery say they do not cover 80% of blood tests directly related to pregnancy (for my wife). The doctors office said this has never ever come up before as these are standard tests, yet Discovery are insisting on not covering it. I tried calling for assistance which was absolutely useless as they can just vomit out of their script.

There is absolutely no way that a doctor would send anyone for blood tests without informing them that it may not be covered. So Discovery are clearly rogues and *****ing from us. If you remove benefits then lower the damn rates. They cannot even claim it to be a 2022 change as the test was done in 2021.

For something specialised and unusual, I can possibly understand. But for a general test related to a maternity benefit which is required to not be covered is ridiculous. The lady on the phone line was trying to convince me that these tests aren't necessary as well, just to cover for Discovery. This is absolutely unacceptable
