Bad Treatment By Discovery Health Medical Scheme

I was admitted at private hospital called EmoyaMed in Bloemfontein on the 14th of October 2021 with issues of high fever and abnormal heart rate (>100Bpm). I have been with Discovery Health for 14 years now, I have more than R30k on my Medical Savings Account (MSA) I am on a medical plan that allows me to consult any GP anywhere near in the country, and consult any hospital in the country as well. So my plan is not limited to certain Dr’s or Hospitals. Now I’m surprised that after I was discharged on the 16th October 2021 having spent two(2) nights at EmoyaMed Hospital, I’m now faced with a bill of R15k that Discovery Health refuses to pay because they claim that I went to the Hospital that they don’t have a contract with therefore their fees are not online with Discovery Health fees and their contractual Hospital. Now for me it’s strange as this has never been communicated to me as their client for all these years that one should take note that I was not supposed to use Emoya Med even though the hospital is jus 2km away from my house. Now with the emergency case that I had at the time, I could not drive past that hospital and go to any other hospital that is very far from me because I hard a heart rate that was very high and could not know how risky that could turn out to be.

Can someone help expose Discovery Health with the ill treatment of their clients.
