Bad Service all around

Problem after problem....I stupidly joined Discovery based on their 'good' rep. I should have known I would have issues when the various people I called were unable to explain the benefits of the different plans. For a first time applicant this is a service that is needed if you don't understand the terminology. Your website is also not user friendly in this regard. So I blindly chose the classic saver plan without understanding it and without being able to get any information from an actual human regarding what I was covered for. It is so difficult to talk to an actual human at discovery, my queries were just denied without being assisted. I app**** for medical aid in september and it was supposedly active from 1 November 2019 and I was given a tracking number (still don't know what this is for). My vitality was also cancelled after I app**** for it, I received this message in December which said it was cancelled the previous month (Don't know why? Again no human contact just endless sms' ). I did not receive a welcome package, card or any information regarding my cover until the following year. As a result I incurred hospital medical expenses out of my own pocket because I was not clear on Discovery's cover. I was not even made aware of the app until 2020. My chronic was then not approved based on my age, despite being on the medication for 2 years. While I understand the importance of seeing a specialist, the waiting time is up to 4 months for an appointment...must I now just pay cash or out of my MSA while I wait for a confirmation of the diagnosis I know I have. So I see the specialist...and suprise suprise you don't cover it and now my MSA is depleted. I now must apply for the chronic benefit to cover the consultation. Discovery requests you see a specialist to confirm your chronic diagnosis and then makes you do all the work to have it paid for. While I realise that my issues with my medical aid are partially my own fault for not investigating better, I strongly feel that Discovery's communication is lacking. I also feel that a lot of my problems could have been avoided had I spoken to a person about what I was signing up for and had I received a package. Also this careless thing is total BS...I requested a card several times and you still haven't sent one. I feel it's irrisponsible to not have a card.
