Bad Service after the death of Main Member

My life partner passed away on 06 February 2022. He was the main member of our medical aid (group scheme)

On 25 February Discovery notified us that our membership will be terminated.

I send all the document to Discovery on 26 February requesting to be changed to Key Care Plus. I was retrenched January 2022 6 days before the death of my partner. I clearly stated that I can not afford the Classic Delta Saver option.

Discovery informed me in order for us to moving to Key Care plus I need to submit bank statements. I didnt have a problem to supply Discovery with Bank Statements and the retrenchment letter BUT I was concerned that we would not have enough time to submit everything which will result in us not being on medical aid .

I then send an email (25 February 2022) and spoke to a consultant to rather move the Essential Delta Core Plan to ensure that we have a medical aid 01 March 2022.

My son just went to the doctors and he must be admitted to hospital. I was shocked to be informed that we are not on medical aid. When I got home I checked my bank statement and noticed that Discover debited R4272.00 as suppose to the R1900.00. This incorrect debit resulted in an unpaid fee of R147.00 and also caused by vehicle insurance to unpay.

As an unemployed person waiting for death benefits to pay out I have to properly plan my finances. I had enough money in my account to cover the medical aid membership for keycare plus or Essential Delta Core (which I agreed on).
