Bad service
Initially i took out a Discovery medical aid but never got joy. On the 17/03/2015 i took my son to the doctor as i suspected he has a eye problem only then he was diagnosed that he has an abnormality, which i am not a doctor to be able to see that, discovery gave me the run around and i gave them a call and only after a month they made my life a misery. On top of it they intimidated me by telling me they removing my son from the scheme because i did not put my sons condition on the application form. how was i to know on a 5 month old child that they actually have an eye condition. i feel this is unfair of Discovery to do that because i only realized his eyes were not normal in January and i was not financially stable to take him to a GP who will diagnose him other wise i would have specified on the application form that he has a condition. Then Discovery actually sent me a letter via email to tell me they have removed my son from the scheme which is the emotionally draining part, the main reason i took this medical aid was because of my son.<br> can you deal with this issue. Angry customer.

When a member joins the Scheme, we process the application according to the information disclosed on the application. Once your membership is activated and we receive a request for either in or out of hospital authorisation within a certain period of time our system will automatically pend the request. We will then request further clinical information from your provider. This process is necessary to ascertain whether there was any pre-existing conditions of which we were not aware. Our Standards Team has been in contact with you and provided feedback on the reason behind our decision.
I understand this is not the outcome you hoped for however confirm this is in line with the Scheme rules. For any further queries, please contact the team directly.
Kind regards
