BAD SERVICE

I joined Discovery Health on 1/3/2015. I went onto my husbands medical aid, who has been with your company for many years. I have never had healthcare with Discovery before. I need to go for a procedure and I sent the PMA on Friday. I phoned in on Monday, and was asked security questions, one being my address. When I gave my current address, the one I filled out on my application, I was told it was wrong. The address that you had was some address I lived at 5 years ago??? Where did this come from??? I was then told to phone back on Wednesday as the PMA was still being assessed. I called back today. The same security questions were asked of me. I gave the old address as well as my new address only to be told they are both wrong. They asked my husband's company name, he has been working there for 35 years, only to be told its wrong. The call agent would not help me. I was then put through to someone else who told me the address on your system was an address for my ex husband, it was his business address which closed down in 2010??? How do you get this weird information? Why do you not use the information I filled out on the application? No answer on PMA. System down

Hello lollyone,

Thank you for your comment.

When a member joins the Scheme, we process the application according to the information disclosed on the application. Once your membership is activated and we receive a request for either in or out of hospital authorisation within a certain period of time our system will automatically pend the request. We will then request further clinical information from your provider. This process is necessary to ascertain whether there were any pre-existing conditions of which we were not aware.

I confirmed that the request has been reviewed and the authorisation has been released. We apologise for any inconvenience experienced and wish you all the best for your procedure.
