Bad communication and Client service

In May 2015 Discovery over paid me back for my medical savings when I transferred to another medical aid. They then called me and asked me to please pay it back. I happily agreed and asked them to send me the bank details. Nothing was sent! two months later they call me to say can I pay and again I say yes but I need details please send me the account details. Nothing was sent! Then I have ITC Calling me which seriously ****es me off because now I am getting a bad credit record because of Discovery and there lack of assistance!! I express my frustration to ITC and they provide me with bank details which doesn't work it keeps routing to another company name. I send them a email querying why this happens and is it correct. No response. I get a sms saying they will be informing the client to pass judgement on my name!!! I am a single mom and I don't appreciate this! I will be getting a bad credit record because of discovery not helping me with bank details!! This is not my fault I pay all my debts every month with no worry I do not have bad debt or unpaid debt but my record will be damaged and could bare consequences thanks to discovery!!

Hello Serena Oldfield,

Thank you for your comment.

I am sorry for the frustration caused when you called to cancel and your premiums refund.

I investigated your query and confirm that the Medical Savings Account (MSA) covers the cost of day-to-day expenses, such as visits to the general practitioner (GP) and to the dentist, as well as the cost for medicine. Should you withdraw your policy or change your plan during the course of the year and you have used more than you have contributed to the savings, there will be an amount owing to the scheme.

We work out the amount owing to Discovery Health as follows:
o Amount contributed to the MSA so far,
o Less the amount claimed for day-to-day medical expenses,
o Adding any interest earned on money in the account (calculated monthly in arrears if there is money in the account).

The Scheme notified you telephonically in May and July last year about the amount owed. Also, emails were sent to you with the bank details for payment. As no payment was received the debt was handed over and will need to be settled with the collection agency. I have sent you an email with further details.

Regards
Bruce
