BAD ADMINISTRATION

I joined Discovery Health on 1/8/14. My 1/1/15 debit was rejected because of lack of funds. As I'm in Australia my daughter transferred funds from ABSA to discovery. Discovery said they couldn't trace it as deposited slip was unclear. She again went to ABSA who confirmed that Discovery acc number was correct and that Disc received funds. New proof of payment was faxed and receipt confirmed by Billing Service & Vernon Chetty - refs ***,***, Disc confirmed that Jan amount is allocated and Feb will be deducted. Only to be informed by Disc that they cannot trace payment. On 1/2/15 Disc put through a double debit, which fortunately was rejected. There was more than enough for 1 debit. If Jan amount is not allocated by 10/2/15 and Feb amount deducted, PLEASE, PLEASE CANCEL MY POLICY I CANNOT FACE A FUTURE WITH DISCOVERY. I'd rather lose the R16610 which I have contributed. I think the problem is that a different person deals with the query each time. If a query file could be allocated to one person, the history of the case will be evident and confusion eliminated. I really regret it to go public with this complaint, but see no other way. MRS I WESSELS

Hello I Wessels,

Thank you for your comment.

I investigated the details of your concerns and I am sorry to learn of the recent experience you had with us. Whilst we received the proof of payment provided by your daughter, the Scheme has not received these funds in our account for premium payments. I have sent you an email with detailed feedback on your query and the options available to you. I found that the payment made, however this was paid into the correct bank account number for premium payments however the branch code and account name do not match our bank details. We do allow member's the option to send their proof of payment to reinstate their cover before the actual payments are reflecting in our account. However, after a certain period of time, if payment is not reflecting in our bank account, we will suspend or withdraw the membership. Therefore, your policy was withdrawn in February due to the outstanding premiums.

I am sorry I could not provide you with the outcome you sort however trust you understand our stance on this matter. I await your response to my email to further assist you in trying to resolve this.

Kind regards
Bruce
