Avoid Discovery Health Medical Scheme at all cost!!!!

Discovery Health falsely advertises that you get out-of-hospital benefits on their top-tier Smart Series plan, but you dont. Every smart series plan is a hospital plan and you will pay for everything unless you get admitted to hospital. My husband and I don't even pay for late joiner penalties and we both pay close to R6000 a month for hospital plans, which is disgusting considering other medical scheme plans charge much less for their Hospital Plans which are coprrectly advertised as such.

I currently have to go for an in hospital procedure to remove my gall stones, which could not be done on the same day I was admitted to casualties at their network hospital but I fear I will be stuck with another hefty hospital Bill because the Dr's are too afraid to admit patients because of the bureaucracy they recieve from Medical Schemes.

Perhaps if I develop life-threatening complications from not being able to remove my gallstones because of Discovery Health's misleading scheme, plans advertised to the public the claims department will be moved to pay a cent towards a medical bill when we have been paying premiums for well over a decade.

Don't waste your time discovery, literally any other medical scheme is better!
