Authorisation to a Specialist declined

Whats the point if having a medical aid with discovery if they're not even there when you need assistance? Yes it's key care but I am paying. Imagine being told to get an authorization number for a specialist from your primary doctor, the one that they selected for you while the doctor's surgery is closed till further notice coz the doctor is ill. I am not able to go to any other doctor coz there's no secondary doctor, I ended up in the ER in hospital but still couldn't get help coz they can only help if I get a referral letter from the primary doctor who's surgery has been closed until further notice. Now I'm home and cannot be seen by the specialist and yet my premiums are up to date. Imagine I must now change my primary doctor and wait for about a month to get it changed so that I can start over and go to another doctor to get a referral letter. MEANWHILE I'M IN PAIN AND NOT EVEN AWARE WHATS WRONG WITH ME COZ DISCOVERY CANNOT GIVE THE HOSPITAL AN AUTHORISATION NUMBER FOR ME TO BE SEEN BY A SPECIALIST. WHATS THE POINT OF HAVING A MED AID THEN
