**** ARTISTS - DO NOT GET MEDICAL AID WITH DISCOVERY HEALTH

I am absolutely disgusted by Discovery Health. Since the start of my membership I have had nothing but poor service from these people and quite frankly I don't even know what I am paying for.

I recently went for a routine gynae check up and they found high level cell changes in my cervix. I was referred for an urgent Letz procedure with a biopsy to remove the cells and check for cancer. I did my pre-authorization and all seemed to be in order. I was advised by the consultant that I would be covered for 200% of Discovery's rates. The procedure cost me R9500 which I had to pay out of my own pocket. I submitted by claim and Discovery reimbursed me less than R2500. Upon calling their customer service line I was advised that this amount was correct and that this was 200% of the Discovery rate. Please tell me where the f**k I would be able to have an endoscopic surgery done in South Africa for R1200. I asked them to give a factual justification of that pricing and to prove to me where they got those rates from as I spoke to well over 15 surgeons before I had this procedure done. You people take my money but pay for nothing, your medical aid scheme is a **** and I would not recommend that anybody works with you.

All of this is after I was rushed to hospital with 3rd degree burns which you also refused to pay for because I was not admitted into hospital for it.

Absolutely disgusting and blatant dishonesty and thievery, you should be ashamed of yourselves.
