Appalled

We downgraded to the Essential Dynamics Smart plan with Discovery six months ago, and the consultant assured us that we would be covered for hospitals within the network. My wife is scheduled for a procedure, and we initially approached Alberton Netcare, which is nearby and listed as part of the network. The consultant had confirmed that both Mulbarton Netcare and Alberton Netcare were included in the plan's network. Authorization was granted with a co-payment of R14750,000. After paying the surgeon's consultation fee, we found ourselves unable to cover the R14750,000 co-payment, prompting us to contact Discovery. We were informed that Mulbarton was also on the network list, so we paid the consultation fee again, only to be told we would need to pay the R14750,000 co-payment once more. We then visited Olivedale, another listed network hospital, where we again paid the consultation fee, only to face the same co-payment requirement. We are at a loss, as my wife has already taken time off work, and we have been going in circles for a week. We urgently seek guidance on where my wife can receive care. Additionally, my wife is on chronic medication, which the medical aid has refused to cover. We implore someone from the ombudsman's office to assist us, as this medical aid has proven to be misleading and *************. I would not recommend this service to anyone.
