Any illnesses i have being linked to the waiting period conditions

After being hospitalized for Pneumonia in June and a forensic check from my previous doctor, Discovery has linked it to my sinuses (which is a waiting period illness of 12 months).Both the doctor at the hospital and my previous doctor mentioned nothing about sinuses being the cause of the pneumonia, or any bad sinusitis attacks in the past 6 months. At this rate the medical aid is starting to seem a bit pointless to keep because if i should come across any bacteria or virus (flu, bronchitis,any ear infection) for the next year will be linked to my sinuses and not paid for. Had i known before i wouldn't have taken the medical aid, i have no idea how i am supposed to pay a hospital stay, doctor bills and tests, and yet still pay for the monthly installment for the medical aid on my salary.
