Ambulance costs not covered
<p>On 28/6 I had an atrial fibrulation attack which is life threatening. I was authorized ( no ********** 4) to be admitted to the Sunninghill hospital to get a cardioversion at 6am the next day. I was too weak to drive the 100 kms and I requested an ambulance but was told it was not an emergency and I would have to pay the cost myself which is approximately R2000. So I could not see the doctor. This is not acceptable.</p>

I cannot request a letter from the doctor to substantiate the use of an ambulance when I'm sick. You must legislate this, and as I said I will then goto another medical aid.
