************** in the highest form against a disabled boy. I have been with Discovery now for 21 years. I have a disabled son he is 17 but the mind of a 9/10 year old, he has got epilepsy , add , deaf and scoliosis . He has got hemorrhoid's which are bleeding and very uncomfortable. The treating Doctor decided in the best way to treat this is to do a band litigation as he will not cope with a Hemorrhoidectomy. I did everything according to the book and their rules. Visited a chosen Specialist they have a payment arrangement with. Tried getting authorization for hospitalization as for obvious reasons my son will not do this procedure in a consulting rooms as he cannot sit still lie still nothing and will not understand why and what is being done to him . Low and behold discovery phoned me tried putting honey around the mouth and say the scope procedure is not approved for in hospitalization but they have decided that they will cover the Hospital bill and the anesthesiologist bill but the Doctor and the Procedure I must pay out of my own pocket. What ridiculous bull**** is this!!!! Why on this earth do I have a medical aid to pay the Drs bill and procedure out of pocket WHY!!!!!!! how do i explain to my son hey boetie lie still you need to undergo this procedure ( and scar him further emotionally) Discovery does not give a rats ass about disabled people and they do not understand . I want this sorted out otherwise I can promise you one thing this momma will take it further. You are more than welcome on the day of the procedure to send out a Discovery representative and see with your own eyes how my son is and what is disabilities are. I need this sorted by today otherwise I can guarantee you I will take this further .
