A name change.....

I adopted my son at 2months old and had to send in forms in order to be added to my medical aid. This was all done immediately after adoption was confirmed. I was continually asked for forms of which I explained that I already sent. After 2 months I spoke to somebody who advised that they had forms however there was specific form which was not sent.

Finally my son was added on medical aid under birth name for now.

Fast forward 2 years and after a grissly time back and forth with home affairs, our son was finally under our name and surname, however, they changed his ID number.

Now bear in mind, I now have the new birth cert stamped by home affairs, with all his information and new name BUT the ID nr is different. I now need a new medical aid card with new name.

I email them with birth cert and my case. I know that discovery has all letters from adoption agency including adoption certificate. This is on file.

I am emailed and asked for clearer copy. I then email back and am told they have it. I am told that the change of names will take place and my card will be emailed to me.

Fast Forward 2 weeks. I call up as I have not received card. I am told by a agent that there is some problems with the name change. Due to new ID Numbers and as per data protection, they need more from me. BUT I was never notified or told until I called in.

The lady then asks if she can call me back. She calls me back and says that this is a complex case however there is a specific form that has to be signed by local police in order to commence with change.

That was more THAN 2 MONTHS AGO AND I AM STILL WAITING!!!!!!!!!!
