a ****ING JOKE!
I have been a member of Discovery Health for more than 15 years. A number of weeks ago Discovery requested that I become an adult dependent, as I am a student I can remain on the medical aid as a child dependent and I had informed Discovery that I am a student, as a result Discovery requested proof thereof. I email my student registration confirmation and subject receipts to Discovery, in return I received an email stating that my documents had been received and that I would receive an email from Discovery once a decision had been made regarding my membership. After a number of days, I phoned Discovery to follow up as I had not received feedback. I was then informed that Discovery had deemed my documents to be insufficient as my student registration confirmation did not contain my ID number and that it did not state whether I am studying full time or part time. I was then informed that I had suddenly become an adult dependent; THANKS FOR LETTING ME KNOW! I phoned a number of hours later and another consultant informed me that my documentation is insufficient as it is a registration confirmation and not a certificate. What the F**K is the difference? The registration confirmation contains all my personal details (if Discovery would compare it to their records one can see that details on the registration confirmation is true and accurate) and my study information (Including my student number, hence proving that I am a student currently studying at their institution!!!!!!!) I have sent numerous emails complaining about this and I am yet to receive a response. Discovery receives more than R5 000 a month due to my membership and cannot give me the slightest bit of service delivery. What a ****ing joke.
