A Frustrating Discovery

I have been part of Dsicovery Health for 4 and a half years... I have never had problems with them a all until i had to get an Operation done that was the first medical claim that i have made since i have been on medical aid us the first time i ever went for an operation. Obviously going in for your operation and it being your very first it is stressful.. Now to stress about the financial implications after your operation, as all can aggree on is not so ayoba... As you are to recover, stress free. Before my operation i have spoken to discovery, as i had the opportunity to claim back an amount of 3100 that the medical aid do not cover as it is seen as out of thier "network" all good and well... However i was told that i can claim that money back but i will have to submit a form and give consent that they can deduct the money from my day to day saving pocket. I have done so, on Tuesday the 16th of August... I contacted them the following day to speed up the process and to ensure all was in order.. I was toldbot to worry all is in the process and i will be contacted from a consultant as soon as possible... i did not hear anything again as i was concerned that i will miss their call because i would be on the road within the next two hours and i was afraid i would miss a call from them due to bad reception etc etc.. So i phoned again.. And while i was on the landline.. I received a call on my cellphone, a gentleman from discovery.. So i mentioned to this gentleman that i was on the phone now with Discovery with a Lady named Sithle... The gentleman said to me that he is going to go now because Sithle will then attend to me as everything is on my file.. So i spoke to Sithle and I had to submit extra documentations for my medical aid and i did so while on the phone.. Sithle said that someone will get back to me as soon as possible... I never received a call until today. Monday the 22nd of August i had to phone again.. Only to find out that i initially filled in the forms incorrectly as on the forms it states medical professional i stated, the obvious my medical professional that did the procedure... And that is not what they wanted on the form but instead the venue where it took place.. If one needs the venue of where it took place.. State on the form Venue: its not rocket science.. Anycase, when i spoke to them today, Monday they said that the Gentleman that called me, "wanted" to inform me that the forms were filled out incorrect but assumed that The lady i spoke to on the landline Sithle will tell me that i filled out the forms incorrect.. Almost a week later i did not receive feedback from them but i had to phone them again to find out whats going on after they promised me to get back to me and tell me whats going on... And how long the process is going to take still etc etc.. I had to resubmit the forms, placing me a week back basically.. I just believe that if one pays them for a service one should expect a professional service in return... This miscommunication is completely unacceptable and utterly unprofessional... Where now i understand that Dsicovery Health was number one in SA, is barely even making the top 5 of medical aids in the country.. And one wonders why..

Good morning Cornelius
I am really frustrated at this point with Discovery and i know that you are simply a messenger and one cannot be angry and disrespectful towards you.
Please understand that i am really not a difficult person and im not one of those people thats looking for trouble. I complain if need be and i also praise if need be..
This is the part where i can come across as rude.. But its not towards you. Its towards the company you work for...
Firstly helopeter is a wonderful tool to get things done as companies do not wish to have a bad rating and your response to my complaint was rather quick and was quick to notify me on helopeter that you are resolving the situation... However you do not inform the lovely people out there that its going to take another two to three days before you can give me feedback.. Dont get me wrong. Two to three days is acceptable. Yes, a week ago when i sent in my forms already. When you called me this morning to ask me to resubmit the forms since i filled in the claim amount incorrectly as i need to place in the amount that was initially the full amount and not the amount that i want to claim back.. Yet again.. Its not rocket science... Why doesnt it state it like that on the form.. Plus yesterday i had to resubmit the forms for the 3rd time when i was told to place in the venue of the place where it took place and not the medical professional doing the operation. So why does the form state and I quote "Name of medical professional".
It seems that discovery is doing this on purpose to drag the process out for as long as possible so that the money can stay in their account for as long as possible so it can gain larger interest...
In conclusion, speed up the process... I have been waiting for 8 days now and i did everything according to what was told by discovery personnel when i contacted them.
You have everything on record on your side plus you guys record all the conversations... So i will use that as a reference.
Discovery please give me a reason to stay with you guys next year as you all are doing a fantastic job currently of giving me a reason to move my medical aid to another company...
