12 MONTH WAITING PERIOD

I have been a member of Discovery Health since the age of 19. Two weeks ago I received an email notification that my cover have been terminated effective October 2023(shocked) as I still went to the GP in Dec and they paid for the claims. I was then forced to rejoin a day later. For almost two weeks I had to provide them with tests and reports for my daughter who was admitted to hospital previously. Finally yesterday her pediatrician sent a letter stating that there is nothing wrong with my daughter (they questioned the diarrhea , blood in stool and something else) I sent all the tests and scans that was done clearly stating everything was normal. My daughter is not on any medication or chronic treatment . Today I received a counter offer from the underwritings department stating that my daughter has a 12 month waiting period for diarrhea, infections, tonsillitis and a long list of other conditions which i find ridiculous I mean shes only 2 , what child is not going to get diarrhea or a flu, bacterial infection . This makes me sick to my stomach that this went through a panel of underwriters who all agreed that a 2 year old should not have cover for the stupid conditions they listed. I am forced to go over to another medical aid who will gladly assist us with cover. I do not ever want anything to do with these hungry B***###. I am moving my retirement and life policy from them.
